You will need a phone line and a cell phone for when you are not in your home office. You can redirect your land based telephone calls to your cell phone - that why you won't miss any calls. Call your local phone company to find out how to redirect your telephone calls.

For many freelancers, job announcements come to our email addresses. To solve that problem, I purchased the new HP 1000 Mini computer. (It is great. Uses Windows xp, lightweight and convenient. I just throw it into my purse and I'm out the door) I am having to learn more about this hot spot stuff and where my mini computer works best when on the road.

Some freelancers report that their blackberry is truly dependable and they don't need to carry around a laptop or a mini computer. I personally use Metro PCS - a $50 a month, talk all you want cell phone service, the last time I checked they did not have a blackberry service. But I can search the web on my cell phone!

You will need a fax machine and a copier. For most of us, we purchase the all in one, fax, telephone, printer and scanner machine. Usually you can find a reliable, all in one, for just over $100 bucks.

And of course you will need a computer with word processing software. Again, for many of us, the norm is to have two computers, one desk top and one lap top, just in case one of your computers gets an attitude and decides not to work. Being held hostage by a computer isn't a good feeling. Be smarter then your computer - own two!

Freelancers Completing Surveys to Earn Extra Money

This new survey for money task are new for me. However, after qualifying with a couple of the major companies that allow you to provide these surveys online, I realized that this is no game and BIG Business is present.

First of all, these companies called me directly and would not approve my account until they spoke with me. Both interviewers were warm and friendly, however, they had specific questions and they wanted answers. I provided the answers as best as I could and one company approved me and the other is still thinking about it.

They pay online web visitors to take surveys for ideas, products and services that BIG Business is planning to implement. BIG Business wants to know what the consumer is thinking and they are willing to pay for this information.

To make a long story short, we do NOT charge for the hook up to these money making surveys. (Don't want to brag, because this may change. It seems that almost all the other web marketers charge consumers to be able to take advantage of this stream of income)

It seems that those making money won't share the information unless you sign up on their site, for a fee, and become a member. Any rate. I am not in a position to go against the grain, but since today is Christmas, and I am on my way out to celebrate -- I can just say, I didn't know any better if the other Grus ask questions ........

A web site visitor sent an email to complain that she was disappointed when she got to the site and the company was not a "real" agency.

Great Web Designers on Freelance Sites

Designed an informational site for adsense.

Site looked good, but needed a touch of class to separate it from the other sites listed under that same keyword. So I went searching on my favorite freelance site for a web designer. Of course my favorite freelance site doesn't charge me to post a job for experience web designers from all over the world to bid on.

I listed the project details on the site, paid the $5.00 (that is/was returned to me after the project closed) and around 10 top web designers responded immediately.

I selected a web designer. I could tell from his emails, he was extremely polite and concerned about his work.

After placing the amount of the bid into the web site's escrowed account, the web designer asked me several questions and within one day, I was provided with a swish, heading for my new web site.

It was a delight. After he so kindly installed the heading onto my site, I just kept looking at it over and over. It was great work and surely made a difference to the site's appearance.

More than anything else, new freelancers are asking for information on how to get started.

I have placed a posting to have the step by step manual written. Not yet sure if this information should be given away or if a small fee should be charged. Say like $4.95, for the time that it will take to process each order and make sure each person gets a down loadable copy.

Then there is the thought that just putting the information on a Classroom Blog and allowing people free access once they provide a valid email address seems best.

These same people may feel pressured to find a way to generate more income, so they often move too quickly on opportunities that were promoted using emotional response buttons such as fear, greed, pride, etc.

Family members laugh and look at each other when this particular family member comes up with another business idea and expects them to be excited about the newest venture.
The family member, in question, feels the laughter behind his back and perhaps starts to loose confidence. For sure he limits his conversations with family members about his newest business opportunities.

If you fit the description that has been described, do not to worry. The cure is to find your passion, and this may be easier said then done.

Passion is like a built in fire from within that gives you inner strength, patients, determination and a knowingness that you will succeed. Passion provides an unconditional love for what you are doing. Regardless of the ups and downs presented, passion helps you to see your way clearly
Because I am not professionally trained in how to help others find their passion, my help is limited.

The way I found my passion was to meditate on what I was suppose to be doing in life. Each day I would spend 20 to 30 minutes in a deep relaxed state, looking into my self and summarizing my abilities and my likes and dislikes, to find a common denominator.

After reading about others, I found that many people do not accept their calling right away. It is funny, it seems that people often run from any resemblance of their true passion, years before they surrender to the passion.

And perhaps another reason for my delay in finding my passion is, a decade ago when I was making my 10 year plan - the Internet was not fully developed. How could any of us, who earn a living online, have known that some phase of the Internet would be our passion?

There are many roads leading to your passion. Each and every business opportunity that you became involved with, taught you something. It is like taking courses at a junior college. The class is for only for a semester and so was your business venture.

Do not worry, when you stumble across your passion, your family members will not be laughing when you send a limo to pick them up for a dinner party at you new home!
